Old Business
· Sheep Barn: President Stern reported that the north/west wall and roof are completed. With insurance check and donations, we have small balance remaining to come from the club.
· Culverts: replacement is planned in the farmyard.
· Grilling Shed: being repaired following wind damage. The location is unknown at this time.
· Bleachers: We are replacing the old wooden framed bleachers located on the south side of the track with bleachers purchased from the Raymond, SD school district.
· Fischer building: we are in process of installing doors on the west end.
New Business
· Threshing machine: Allan and Dave Villmow reported that a family contacted them regarding an Avery Threshing machine restored and asked if the club would be interested but we would have to store the machine inside and use it. The family is working on a price or possibly donating. With club discussion, a motion by Rich Luebke, seconded by Dennis Stahleker to accept if the price is right. Motion carried.
· National Red Power Show: The club is planning to sell raffle tickets for a fund raiser for the club on a Farmall (M) pedal tractor. The club decided to price as $5/one ticket and $10 for 3 tickets. A motion was made by Dan Kurtenbach to move forward with the fund raiser, seconded by Myron Sonne. Motion carried.
· 2021 Feature Tractor: President Stern asked what the feature tractor should be for next year. Looking at the past list, Allis Chalmers tractors and equipment are scheduled next. The show is scheduled for September 11 & 12, 2021. A motion was made by Myron Sonne seconded by Dennis Stahleker to also include the 2021 feature tractor and show dates in this year’s show schedule and save the date cards. Motion carried.
· City: Thank the Delmont City staff for the phone call for letting us know about the water issue at the farm. The notification saved us from a big mess.
· New Members: Aaron Weber, Parkston, and Lon Stadlman, Parkston joined the club as new members. Thank you
· Gary Jerke: President Stern reported that Gary Jerke approached the Board regarding his 5th generation completely restored farm located Southeast of Tripp. (www.experiencethefarm.com or 605-299-2721). The farm is set up for retreats, reunions, or receptions/parties. He is wondering if the club would be interested in helping him with the field work using old tractor and horse equipment. After a discussion by club members, this request will be further discussed at a later meeting.
With no additional business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:30 with a motion by Dennis Stahleker, seconded by Ron Koenig.
Thanks to all those who helped with the farm projects and donations thus far.
Respectfully submitted by Secretary George Sandhoff
Next meeting is scheduled for August 10 at 7:30 PM. Phone line will be used.
